MSR Micro Rocket Stove
The
"MSR Micro Rocket" is a super compact lightweight gas burner weighing
just 75 grams. It comes with a piezo electric lighter and a plastic
hard shell carry case. The build quality is exceptional and it screws directly into a standard isobutane gas canister.
The burner is simple to operate. Simply fold out the supports, screw it onto a isobutane gas canister, turn it on, light and start cooking. The flame is completely adjustable from just barely on to a full on burn that resembles a jet engine.
The legs have no slop in them and line up perfectly every time and fold down to a size that will fit in the palm of your hand. Some gas will escape from the canister as you are screwing the burner head in, but it seals perfectly once it is fully wound in.
The
Tri-sectional Wind Clip located on top of the burner helps shield the
flame from a breeze. It basically divides the burner into thirds, so if
there is wind, 2/3 of the burner is making a flame and heating your
cookware.

I Purchased the MSR Micro Rocket after much searching and reviewing of options. My initial expectations were greatly exceeded and the quality of this stove is exceptional. Once I was done admiring the design of the Micro Rocket, I connected it to a canister and fired it up. I knew instantly that I had made the right decision. You can adjust the flame down to a very modest output or crank it up to what I can only describe as full afterburner. At the time of writing this review I have had the "MSR Micro Rocket" canister stove for the past two years and it has never let me down.
