The Inner Tent The red floor material is made of a durable 70 denier nylon with a polyurethane coating.  A water repellent coating and seam tape have also been applied to this material to provide a waterproof base.  There is also a good amount of freeboard between the base and the zippered openings which greatly aids in keeping the inside dry.  The side walls consist of 40 denier nylon sheets with sections of 20 denier nylon mesh.  The construction of the inner tent provides excellent protection from pooling ground water  and strikes a good balance between wind protection and ventilation. Inside the tent are some conveniently placed gear loops for hanging accessories, along with two large mesh storage pockets....

Helinox Chair One

Image
The Helinox Chair One has been a favourite among sea kayakers for it's light weight, compact size and the comfort it brings at the end of long day paddling. There are two main components, the frame and the fabric seat.  The seat material is made from heavy duty nylon with mesh cut outs for cooling. The fabric is sewn together to a very high standard and the corner tabs which slide over the frame are heavily reinforced. The frame consists of anodized aluminium poles which slot into two high-strength nylon hubs.  These aluminum poles are connected internally by shock chord, so when assembling or breaking down, all the parts stay together and fit correctly.   The ergonomic shape of the chair allows you to sit comfortably, with the seat cradling your bottom and back.  The back support allows you to slightly recline, and the hole thing packs down to fit into a small travel case. On very soft sand the legs tend to sink into the sand quite...

Furno Pot Set

Image
The Furno Pot Set is an inexpensive lightweight cooking pot set, consisting of two hard anodized aluminium pots with foldable stainless steel handles.  The pots interlock together allowing a 230g gas canister and a MSR Micro Rocket stove to slip inside for efficient storage.  A strong lightweight mesh bag holds it all together when stored.     The main pot has a capacity of 850mls and is a good size for a solo camper.  The small pot has a capacity of 350mls and is a good size for boiling water for a single cup of tea or coffee and doubles as a lid for the larger pot.    The pots have folding stainless steel wire handles with a plastic lining as a hand grip.  However on the smaller pot, the handle is fairly close to the burner flame and while at full flame, the handle heats up quite significantly, destroying the plastic lining and will be to hot to handle with bare hands.  With the larger pot, this is not a problem as the ...

MSR Micro Rocket Stove

Image
The "MSR Micro Rocket" is a super compact lightweight gas burner weighing just 75 grams.  It comes with a piezo electric lighter and a plastic hard shell carry case.  The build quality is exceptional and it screws directly into a standard isobutane gas canister.     The burner is simple to operate.  Simply fold out the supports, screw it onto a isobutane gas canister, turn it on, light and start cooking.  The flame is completely adjustable from just barely on to a full on burn that resembles a jet engine. The legs have no slop in them and line up perfectly every time and fold down to a size that will fit in the palm of your hand.  Some gas will escape from the canister as you are screwing the burner head in, but it seals perfectly once it is fully wound in. The Tri-sectional Wind Clip located on top of the burner helps shield the flame from a breeze.  It basically divides the burner into thirds, so if there ...
